Just Add Snow
March 17, 2009 at 2:07 pm | In Chit Chat | 3 CommentsHey everyone…..here is my latest layout. It almost seems funny to be scrappin snow pics now that it is getting warmer but we got a huge pile of snow last February and I had a few cute pics of Connor playing outside that I wanted to put together in a layout.
I actually used up items in my stash for this one so that felt good!! I don’t think there was a “newly purchased” item anywhere on here; not that any of that matters but honestly it is nice to be able to pull out older papers and embellishments to create a new project.

In other photos to share…I found this one in my camera and thought I would post a pic here on my blog. This was taken this past winter right before dark. I love trees and always have; something about this photo really inspires me. I was actually sitting in my car when I took this photo and that is why it looks like I am under the tree..LOL! Anyway….love the blue sky on this!

Alphabet Storage
March 16, 2009 at 7:27 pm | In Chit Chat | 15 CommentsMost of the people who know me through scrapbooking know that I am addicted to alphabets. In fact, I have so many packs of alphabets that I needed wall storage to arrange them in a way that would allow me to see them while I scrap. I have a major problem with “can’t see it, won’t use it.” Also…..I am very bad at adding handwriting to my layouts so I use alphas in all sizes and shapes to create titles and journaling bits. I also have mini alpha stamps stored on the bottom shelf of the Making Memories wall organizer and chipboard alphabets in the small jars sitting on the wall shelf. There are letters EVERYWHERE.
Now here is another secret….this isn’t all of them! I still have an entire basket full of odd packaged letters, chipboard letters, etc. The ones hanging here are mostly stickers and rub-on letters. The funny thing is…once I added the Pink Paislee stickers to the wall this past weekend I realized why our stickers are so popular. The COLORS! I mean look at the variety we offer. I just love seeing all those fun and bright color options!
Anyway….I thought it was time that I shared a few pics of my “alpha wall of shame.”
I plan on redoing the paint color soon and once all that is done I will show off the remainder of the scrap studio!
Chow for now

Is this crazy or what? How do you store your alphas?
We Might Be Crazy – Dog Crazy That is!
March 15, 2009 at 2:49 pm | In Chit Chat | 3 CommentsFor about a year now our son (who is an only child) has been asking us for a puppy and up until about 2 months ago I was always quick to say “no way!”
But recently…I have been getting the itch myself and have slowly and very quietly started looking for a breed of dog that might be the perfect fit for us. Or more honest a perfect fit for Connor because I think he needs a buddy around the house. We want a small dog. We want a dog that doesn’t shed. We want a dog that doesn’t “eat us out of the house at home” and we want a dog that isn’t hyperactive or too aggressive. It seemed like a lot to ask for and then I stumbled upon a breeder here in our hometown who breeds a mix of poodle, maltese, yorkie and long hair chihauhau’s. Similar to a Maltipoo her dogs stay under 10 lbs and they don’t shed. Great for families with allergies and calm families like ours. I mean seriously just look at this face:

So…today we went to look at the dogs. They were actually already sold and reserved but we fell in love! They were playful but lovable and very calm (even for 8 month old puppies.) Connor actually started crying when we couldn’t take one home even though we explained to him in advance that we would have to wait until the next liter is available!
Seriously we might be losing our minds but I think we are ready to add to our family! Waiting will probably be the hardest part now.
Holla For Golla!

Do you ever buy something to make your life easier and it actually creates a domino affect where you go and purchase something else to go with the thing you just purchased to make your life easier?
This happens to me when I purchase scrapbook tools and supplies and it happened to me this weekend when my husband convinced me to purchase this bluetooth headset. I always said I wouldn’t attach something to my ear and walk around talking to people in “mid air” but to be honest I NEED to give this a shot. My phone rings about 20 times a day and it would be so much easier to keep my hands free while I am on the phone. Sometimes I need to type and sometimes I need to jot down notes…whatever the case may be….I am going to try it and see just how I like it.

So yesterday I was out shopping all day with my mom and my sister while having this thing attached to my ear and guess what? I liked it! To be honest you couldn’t even see it because it was hidden under my hair. Of course someone did think I was talking to them at one point (I knew that would happen..) but overall it was very easy to use and very easy to hear the other person. I think I might be convinced.
But….now…..I need a new cell phone case. One that will make my phone more accessible so I can see who is calling quickly. Not to mention I wanted something girly and that is hard to find. So….last night I discovered the Golla Bags from a company in Finland! These bags are so cool. I can store my stylus, my ear buds, my phone, and probably even my Bluetooth headset in 1 bag. If I want to look super dorky it even comes with a lanyard and I can put it around my neck.
And it is girly too!
So tell me…does this happen to you? You buy one thing and it leads to other purchases? I guess I did my part to stimulate the enonomy this weekend

Check out the Golla Site too! Lots of fun mobile bags, MP3 bags, laptop bags etc!
Oh Snap!

Here is my first layout using products from the new Pink Paislee Fetching collection. I also used a piece of paper from the captivating collection as my background (the woodgrain paper.) I love love love these new paper designs. So easy to work with and mix with my photos.
Now…if this looks crooked it probably is. I have decided once and for all that my Making Memories trimmer cuts at a slight angle. I have to really watch the way I hold the paper to keep it straight and frankly I don’t have a lot of time for that. When the paper is slightly crooked then I end up placing everything else slightly off and when I photograph it all the flaws come out! UGHHHH! I might be back on the hunt for a trimmer that cuts straight EVERYTIME! Sorry MM. Love your products but unfortunately I just might have to “shelf” the trimmer.

This photo is from our trip last summer to King’s Dominion Theme Park. My son was seriously so scared and really wanted to get off this kiddie roller coaster. The photo is terrible because I cropped it close so we could really see the expression on his face. I think he is close to “loosing his cookies” during this turn. Since Oh Snap is something he says every now and then I decided to use it as the title! Overall I think this layout needs something else but it is so crooked now I am going to just slide it in the album and move on…LOL!
I know it is Valentine’s Day and I should be sharing a “lovey dovey” layout or project but the truth is I don’t have any! I didn’t even make any handmade valentine’s this year. I am awful! But….I do hope you are enjoying your weekend with all your “sweeties.”
Wow!
February 9, 2009 at 11:18 pm | In Chit Chat | 2 CommentsSeriously! How in the world does a month go by before I get back to this blog? Ya know…..ever since I joined Facebook it seems like I use that to catch up with friends old and new. I wonder if anyone reads blogs anymore
It just seems like everyone reads all the status updates from their friends on Facebook each day and then they move on.
So what is going on in my life? Lots…..here are a few tidbits:
1.) my son is learning to read. I mean really READ. I hardly even have to help him right now. He is sounding through all the words really well! I am so proud of him! He is a little math whiz too!
2.) my husband is going to turn 44 in a few days (the 15th) and we are both talking alot about the future and just how old we are starting to feel…LOL!
3.) my 20 year high school reunion is this year and I will be helping organize and brainstorm ideas with a bunch of other girls. Anyone have any fun ideas??
4.) my motto that “change is good” is still true! We are taking our business in a new direction and it is scary and exciting at the same time.
5.) I am just waiting for the weather to get a little warmer so I can start walking / jogging. It is finally time to lose the weight I have added over the past 3-4 years. I am hoping 3-4 months is all I need to get rid of it. Wish me luck!
Well I think that is enough sharing for the night. I hate blogging without photos so here is a quick one of me goofing around with Connor! ( he loves taking photos with the MAC photobooth)

Talk to everyone soon!

Las Vegas Highlights
January 7, 2009 at 12:15 pm | In Chit Chat | 3 Comments
Wow I can’t believe I haven’t written a blog entry about our trip to Vegas yet! I was looking through some photos this morning and realized I hadn’t even really looked at these pictures. I have about 75 photos of this trip and thought I would share a few here on the blog.
First off I just have to say that this vacation has ruined me! I will never enjoy flying on a commercial airline ever again. Private Jets are the only way to go. No long lines, no baggage claim, no waiting for a cab or bus…NOTHING! NO HASSLE AT ALL! Totally quiet ride at 40,000 feet. Nothing better in the world.
Here is a picture of Barrys brother Craig along with Craigs brother in law Mike! Craig was our tour guide and host and he showed us a fabulous time!

We went to Lake Las Vegas, Green Valley Ranch, The Bass Pro Shop (which had a casino inside…) and so many other fabulous hot spots including the Largest Collectible Car Showroom in the Imperial Palace. (got some fun shots while we were here)

These cars are NOT CHEAP and they are all for sale. If you have 500K-3million to spend I highly recommend it…LOL!

The three stooges. NO seriously….these guys are the best

Remember Zoltar from the movie BIG? Yep..here it is!

Yeah..there was a cute PINK boutique in Lake Las Vegas. Had to snap a photo!

Here is Mary and Linda posing before heading home. We were sad to leave the Palazzo let me tell you!

Here is Rico Suave…

Do we look like superstars? NOT! (But we sure did feel like it)
Thanks again Craig! We have so many fond memories of this trip. We owe ya one!
Ok…more later….
I Love Penguin Eggs
December 22, 2008 at 11:07 am | In Chit Chat | 1 CommentLast summer we went to the Wichita Zoo with Barry’s parents (Connor’s Granparents) and I took about 70 pictures while I was there. This was one of my favorites because it has an interesting background and well… I just love the look on my sons face.
This was a “fake egg” display outside of the penguin exhibit and it shows the size of the eggs for that particular type of penguin. To be honest I don’t prefer to scrapbook about the zoo (because most of the time the layouts look the same year after year…) but I do like to scrapbook the smaller moments like this one!
I did squeeze in a bit of Pink Paislee papers on this (The Roundtable Scallop Die Cut Paper) so that counts right?? LOL!

I printed off 3 more photos to scrap and I DO plan on using my holiday time off wisely!

Happy Holidays….
December 20, 2008 at 1:03 pm | In Chit Chat | Leave a CommentWho isn’t busy this time of year right? We are back from Las Vegas (photos from that trip coming soon) and now we are moving quickly towards the holiday and the New Year.
Last week I was busy preparing for my son’s kindergarten classroom party and now that that is over I can focus on what needs to be done for Christmas! Today I will wrap presents and make a list of any last minute things that have to be done before Wednesday.
As I get older I am finding that handwritten lists are more important than ever. I am thinking that a “to do” journal that I can keep right beside my computer is key. For some reason electronic computer to do lists don’t work for me. I seem to like to be able to see the physical handwritten check marks of accomplishment! Therefore, I might hop off to my scraproom today to create a new journal for 2009.
Before I go I thought I would share a fun quickpage I downloaded from Weeds & Wildflowers. They have been hosting an amazing 25 days to Christmas countdown with free digi giveaways everyday. I think I have downloaded enough freebies to create my entire Christmas layouts this year! I owe them my life; this blog event will save me a ton of time after the holiday photos are ready to go! There are still 5 days left so if you want to check it out you should!

Awesome Use For Press Ons!
December 8, 2008 at 2:29 pm | In Chit Chat | 1 CommentI hope Peachy Cheap doesn’t mind that I “lifted” this image. I just love love love the way our Pink Paislee press ons look on this Urban Lily journal book! What a fun way to decorate your everyday journal! She used our Pop Fashion Accents and Pop Fashion Icons on this.

Peachy Cheap is selling this journal book for $13.99 and they still have some available. She is showing how easy it is to use rub-ons on these and of course we love it too! If you click on this link there are more examples of the inside and of course more rub-ons.
Houndstooth LUV! A New Layout..
December 7, 2008 at 2:45 pm | In Chit Chat | 3 CommentsI am seriously supposed to be working today since we leave for Las Vegas on Monday night; but I managed to get my new scrap space completely organized this afternoon and I just couldn’t help myself! New goodies, a freshly printed photo…what is a girl to do!
I purchased this Houndstooth Sheer the other day and have been dying to use it. I am glad to see this pattern is making a comeback! In fact I am currently on the lookout for a Houndstooth scarf to wear this winter. I am a little obsessed with it right now
This is a layout that captures the emotion my son was feeling on his first day of kindergarten. He did not want us to leave! He was crying and actually pretty scared of his new school. I have more back to school pics to scrap but this is the first one I have actually finished.

ummmm…isn’t that sheer pattern so yummy!

I also totally love these Heidi Swapp ghost frames. Right up my ally!
Have a great week everyone! We are going to try and upload some shots from Vegas so stay tuned
