A New Project…what was I thinking?
September 13, 2008 at 1:43 pm | In Chit Chat | 4 CommentsLast weekend I started a pretty aggressive scrap project. I say that only because I have very little free time to scrap these days much less complete an entire album that is 6″ x 12″ with 8 pages (16 total front and back) but who’s counting. I know, I know…it doesn’t sound like much but honestly for me it is enormous and daunting!
I am using mostly papers from Kaiser Craft along with glitter covered chipboard, black and white rub-ons and of course other goodies that I have yet to discover hiding in my stash. I have the cover finished and am showing some sneaks of it below. The theme of this album is going to center around our summer vacation to the Outer Banks back last June. We had such an amazing time and I have so many photos and memories I want to capture. To this day my son keeps asking me if we can go back to the beach and honestly who can blame him? I know this album will be treasured by our whole family.
Check back next weekend and maybe…. just maybe….. I will have it finished.
Look how great the Pink Paislee accent rub-ons look on the edges? YUMMY!
The numbers from the Pink Paislee rub-ons were the perfect size too!
Who can resist a little bling right? I plan on using these throughout the album.
Glitter is so easy to use! I always seal mine with a Krylon Crystal coat when I am done. It is in a spray can so it is super easy to use. It keeps any loose glitter from coming off.
And finally before I go…did you know today is National Peanut Butter and National Chocolate Day? Sounds like the perfect excuse to eat some Reese’s or maybe a Snickers bar…LOL!
Pink Paislee Fusion!
September 1, 2008 at 10:05 am | In Chit Chat | 2 CommentsThe best part about scrapbooking with new products is having the ability to “fuse” them with products you already have in your “stash.” Last night when I printed out this collage photo I realized that the Pink Paislee Outside Of The Box paper would go perfectly with this pumpkin patch theme! Also since they kids were wearing blue colored t-shirts I knew I wanted to include the new Moon Glade paper from our Vintage Moon collection. Therefore, right away I was able to create a Pink Paislee fusion of products! LOL! This isn’t a new concept in scrapbooking but it feels good to be able to mix and match the old with the new!
Here is something I am ashamed to admit…..this is only my 2nd layout using Pink Paislee products. With very little time to scrap this year I haven’t even had time to play with the products our very own company creates. Isn’t that awful???????
I had fun with this one and even took the time to sprinkle glitter around the border using glue dots. It took some time but it adds a nice sparkly touch! And the TopSider worked so well for my main title. Oh….and in case you are wondering….Fabri-Tac is the only thing I EVER use to hold down felt. Nothing has ever worked for me as good as the Fabri-tac. It is like cement.
Another fun thing to try…..I used self adhesive Magic Mesh as my photo mat but after I placed it on the paper, I decided I wanted to distress it, so I used an emery board and starting sanding the edges! It really did start to fray and distress very easily. Great way to releive some stress and it was FUN!
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your Labor Day!
