~ Card holder for my scraproom ~
June 30, 2008 at 2:38 pm | In Chit Chat | 12 CommentsJust a quick Pink Paislee project to share with everyone today! I found this wooden file holder at a thrift store for $1 and I knew it would make a great addition to my scrap space. I have a tendency to create a lot of cards and then throw them in a basket in a closet and end up forgetting about them. I thought if I created something to keep them visible I would send them out more often
(lets see if it works…)
I used the Pink Paislee Office Lingo – Roundtable scallop paper for the entire base of the project. I currently have a green and pink scrap space so I wanted to keep with that color theme. I also used lots of pink florals and green felt! On the back I cut out the circle from the Pink Paislee Office Lingo overlay and made the back just as pretty as the front!
The great thing is that it is about 8″ wide so it shouldn’t take up a lot of table space. Can I just tell you how happy these colors make me?
Thanks for stopping by!

I got a new toy today and let me tell you I have struggled over which new phone to purchase. When I heard about the new iphone that is being released July 11th for $199.00 I thought for sure I would end up purchasing that version to coordinate and sync with my macbook.
However…..this phone came out today and it is a very close competitor to the iphone. It allows me to stick with Sprint service (which I have had for 10+ years with no problems.) It was offered at $129.00 after rebates and I had received a $70 sprint certificate in the mail so I just couldn’t pass this up! I am still playing with it and I seriously need to read the manual but so far I think I am going to LOVE IT!
The coolest feature I have found so far is probably the voice activated GPS. It locates where I am based on cell phone towers and then I can just push a button and say “Pizza Hut” and within seconds it lists all the Pizza Huts nearby. Then using the touch screen I just click which Pizza Hut I want and the directions, phone number etc. pops up. Very cool! I think Barry will use that more than I will…LOL!
I can also use it to track my to do list, calendar dates, contact info, web browsing, watching TV and taking pics and video. Now I just have to get it to work with my email. Wish me luck!

Trip Highlights (Long Entry)
June 13, 2008 at 6:48 pm | In Chit Chat | 2 CommentsOk….as promised here are some photos highlighting our latest travels. Our entire trip was centered around my best friends wedding in the Outer Banks; however we still managed to stop along the way to visit Williamsburg, VA for 3 nights among other things. My friend Lori and her fiance Joe rented a beach house so they could get married “beach-side” with their closest friends and family members in attendance. Obviously we were more than happy to oblige
Here are a few photos from Day 1 when we drove to Richmond, Virginia to visit the King’s Dominion Theme Park. We had a total blast here. There were absolutely NO LINES and there was a ton of stuff to keep my 5 year old entertained. He loved seeing Dora, SpongeBob and riding all the “car” rides.
Next up…Colonial Williamsburg…..this was such a pretty, quiet and serene place. Sure it was old fashioned but it was a welcome change to the hustle and bustle of the world we live in today. I loved walking around trying to imagine what life must have been like in this settlement city. Very interesting.
Shopping and dining in Colonial Williamsburg was also a blast. Turns out my husband and I also had the chance to celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary while we were on this trip….we ended up eating at a place called The Trellis and I tell you…one of the best meals of my life…these pics are from dinner and some “posed” shots around town.
Now…the beach! I am not kidding when I say we were so far North on Highway 12 on the Outer Banks that the road ended. It was so cool! Not to mention the house where we stayed was literally 50 feet from the ocean. It almost felt like a private beach. This was the first time my son got to play on the beach and in the ocean and I think he will treasure it always. We even brought back some sand and shells so he could keep them on display in his room.
You won’t see me in my bathing suit..so here are my cute toes..tee hee
These little sand crabs were everywhere…so so cute.
My son ran back and forth to the water all day…he loved it!
Here is my husband trying to surf on a “skim” board. (I have no idea what the difference is…)
Now here is a shot of the happy couple. This is “The Kiss.” Congrats to my friend Lori and of course to our new friend Joe. We are so happy for you and your “new family.”
Look at this…….what can I say..romantic, fun, and all that good stuff!
Some of the yummy food and desserts!!
And finally….a short drive to Manteo to embark on the Pirate Adventure…(that never happened…and that is another story)
I hope you have enjoyed the highlights. This is just a small sampling of the 300+ photos I took…LOL! I think I will have a lot to scrap about in the coming months.
We Are Home!
June 12, 2008 at 10:53 am | In Chit Chat | 1 CommentWe made it back from our “road-trip” to the Outer Banks last Monday and I have a lot of photos to edit and share; I think I took over 300 photos in about 8 days so there is a LOT to share…. I promise to post more later this evening but here is a little eye candy to get you started. This was the view from the deck where we stayed. Just a short walk over the dunes down to the beach. Pure Heaven!
