I am not sure if anyone reads this blog anymore…..(now that Pink Paislee is live that is….) but hey that means I can chat my heart out and no one will hear me!

Tomorrow is February 1st. Heck…in 1 hour it will be February 1st. That means I have just 1 week before I board a jet plane to Anaheim. Am I nervous? Sure! Am I excited? Of course! Taking this leap has been a totally different experience from owning an online store but one that I am enjoying to the fullest. I am also learning that you cannot assume anything when it comes to manufacturing products. Suppliers have to be told exactly what you are asking for down to the smallest detail and you really have to check and double check every item closely.   So……..sorry about that sidebar.  What were we talking about again?

I am SO SORRY I haven’t posted here on my personal blog in a few days. I am just crazy busy getting everything ready for our debut for Pink Paislee and it turns out there isn’t even time to eat these days….today I finally had some mac and cheese around 3:48 p.m. LOL! Maybe I will lose some weight… eh?

Good news!  Our new Pink Paislee products play well with others…yes it is true!  I finally got the chance to play with some of the new papers from Pink Paislee and was staring at my stash and realized this KI Lace paper was a perfect match to the fun blues from our Office Lingo collection!

I know part of the fun of scrapbooking is mixing products from other manufacturers and you will be glad to know that Pink Paislee products play very nicely with others!  Enjoy!

If you haven’t already heard we have started the Paislee Parade over at the Pink Paislee website and are showing sneak peeks everyday until we leave for the CHA Show.  We have just 2 weeks left!  {YIKES}

Ever feel like the day you are having is something out of the twilight zone?  Or maybe the days events just take a strange twist that you weren’t expecting?  Yep….I think I have gone over the deep end this afternoon as they say.

First I wake up to some emails that have me a little on edge.  The guy building our website is confused, I have completely stretched Holly to the limit and I feel terrible about it, and then as I am getting my son ready for the sitter I begin cleaning out his backpack from school and I see a note from his teacher about one of the kids in his class having some type of worms, and although the child has been treated we should be diligent about washing hands etc…??????

Next up my mom stops by unannounced so I can help her pack up the 9 “Barbie’s” she has sold on ebay for over $300!  (Barbie’s I ask with my head tilted slightly to the side..???????) I guess you are either into collecting Barbies in mint condition or you are into scrapbooking….LOL!

Then I go out and check the mail….and here is where I really start to laugh with hysteria because if I don’t laugh I am going to cry right???  I get a letter from my dad telling me he is leaving everything to me and when he dies he wants to be cremated and have his ashes spread over the slippery rocks in Sedona, Arizona where we all traveled as a family when I was much much younger!  (HUH??????????) Where is this coming from?  I mean there is a lot of history here I won’t go into and he does suffer from Parkinson’s Disease…but this was totally out of the blue and very odd (even for him.)

At this point I continue to pack up my 2200 postcards (that took us 6 hours to label last night) and run down to the ‘goin postal store so I can shell out somewhere around $600 for postage!!!!!!!!!!

I think at this point I am going to stay indoors and have fun matching bazzill cardstock colors to my new Pink Paislee papers!   Maybe that will set the world straight today.

PINK PAISLEE BLOG IS LIVE

Look at this!  I was at Hobby Lobby the other day just browsing through the clearance aisle (trying to find fun stuff to alter like my good friend Tammy Tutterow) and I stumbled upon this metal sign.  Now here is where it gets funny…….I actually bought four of these for 2.00 each and I am sure the girl who rang up my order was thinking….”why does this girl need 4 metal signs about dieting?”   I mean I could stand to lose some weight but is there anyone out there who would hang the definition of the word diet around the kitchen???  I don’t think it would make it into my kitchen decor that is for sure….

However…..they are the perfect size to be altered and posted in our Pink Paislee booth above the paper collections to serve as the ”nameplates” for our product collections.  They measure about 12″ wide by 4″ high.  When I am done with these 4 metal signs they will still look aged around the edges…but they will be covered and altered for our booth needs!

And when I need to remind myself to restrict my food intake I can just rip the cover off and hang this close to the fridge!

Today is going to be a good day.  I woke up and found out that Scrapbook Trends wants one of my layouts for their June 2008 issue!  So excited…it will be in the Summer Fun section and it is a picture of my son swimming at Big Cedar Lodge last summer.  So glad they picked one of my layouts!

Next up today…I will be working on the order form to accompany our Pink Paislee catalog for the CHA Show.  We finally have everything finalized and are able to price everything out.  I also have to try and print out some mock up stamp package inserts so we can display those at the show.    The booth is all constructed and we have a few more pieces to paint and then we can start packing up our show crate.  The freight carrier arrives on February 4th to pick it up and take it to Anaheim!  

I actually have some of our papers in my hot little hands!  How cool is that??? The only problem is I can’t really start creating anything with it because the other items aren’t ready yet and I really want to be able to use all of our products on the layouts….Holly did do some digi layouts using the same elements and they turned out amazing!!!  I wish our Pink Paislee site was live so we could start showing some REAL SNEEK PEAKS!  I am hoping to have it done by the end of this month but I am not sure when it will be done exactly… I promise…we won’t keep you waiting much longer.

I spent a lot of time in the car today….probably somewhere around 4 hours so of course I started flipping through my XM channels to find my fav’ songs….The truth is I like a variety of music (even a little snoop dog every now and then) but at heart I am really an “alternative rock” type of girl. I also realized today that most of my favorite bands are male vocalists. I didn’t even realize this until today. STRANGE.  I just LOVE this new song from Linkin Park!  Super fun to sing out loud.

I used to love watching the 120 minutes on MTV when I was younger… Did anyone else watch that? I even have a few of the CD compilations from the early 90’s…..good stuff on those!

So no real point to this post today…just me rambling about music since I had so much time to catch up with the radio while I was in the car today! Hope everyone is having a happy day!

Hey ya’ll!  I just finished putting together a preshow postcard for CHA and I thought…..hmmm….why not show a little teaser to our blog readers too!    FUN RIGHT?  These elements are from our yummy Office Lingo Collection!  Just as the collection name implies everything is centered around buzz words that you might hear around the office….hence the water cooler comment!  I know you will love this collection.   And more good news……I will have all physical products in my hands by Wednesday or Thursday of next week….I am just dying to smell it, touch it, fondle it and of course get crafty with it!!!

I am starting to feel a lot of pressure. As the date draws closer to our debut at Winter CHA on February 10th I am starting to wonder how our products will be received with the retail store owners! Will they love it? Hate it? Stop to see it etc.

There has already been a lot of excitement building for our products and although I LOVE LOVE LOVE what we have prepared I am still nervous that once it is revealed it will be a let down to everyone. I am crazy to have these thoughts right? Let me just say….this rant has nothing to do with Holly’s designs (in fact she rocked it out!!!) this is really just me being a little frantic that the date is drawing near and  I am just a wee but nervous!

We spent all weekend painting the booth walls and we are off to paint our counter / bar area next. We have to have everything done by this weekend so we can schedule the crate shipment to Anaheim! It is one HUGE crate….I just can’t imagine what it weighs….LOL!

ok….sorry for the rant! I am off to bite my nails now….

I don’t have a lot of news to share today….I did wake up to an email from Dena at Creative Concepts and it turns out they want one of my cards for their 2nd quarter publication. Whoo Hoo! It is a Mother’s Day card that I created ALONGTIME AGO. I didn’t think they would accept it but they did so all is good! I need to send that off today sometime.

I am so crazy swamped right now…the UPC Code business has literally kicked my hiney this week. The information swirling through my brain has got me on serious overload.  I looked at numbers for so long yesterday that I ended up transposing 1 number and none of the “check digits” were calculating right…*SIGH* But I got it figured out and I am a UPC code generating fool today. Happy Me!

I wish I had some scrappy inspiration to share. I am missing my scrap room and am hoping to get to play with some new goodies from Pink Paislee by the end of next week! Yee Haw!

Life is getting hectic!  Meetings with suppliers, discussions with the web guy, and even more important…..making sure the booth is staffed, stocked, sampled, and looking pretty!  I went on a little shopping spree today right after one of my meetings and I am finding some really fun props and goodies for the booth!  Obviously you can tell from the Pink Paislee logo that our colors are bright and fun (Orange and Pink mostly) so the booth is going to be very cheery and full of color (yet classic, crisp and clean!)

I am having so much fun playing around with ideas for ways to display layouts in the booth!  Of course I can’t give away all of my fun finds but here I am showing off just 1 of the props I found today…..interesting huh??

We are busy working on the website now and hope to have the blog live in a week or so!  Once the blog is live we will start posting some sneak peeks (maybe….I don’t know…more than likely….)  We might even have some fun introduction games….   Stay Tuned!

We got our CHA Booth assignment today for the show!  The 411 is that you can find us in BOOTH 424!  We actually have a 10×20 booth and we will be right next to Bam Pop!  How cool is that?  If you are going to be at the show please mark your notes to see us while you are there.  And remember…we are in the new exhibitor section so you actually have to go down some escalators to see all of the new “players.”  We are looking forward to saying hello to everyone while we are there.  I can’t believe it is only 30 days away or so!
